What you see - Addlife lends a new dimension to health and fitness. Managed by the Indo-American Cancer and Research Institute’s Trust, Addlife focuses on a holistic approach to health, under the aegis of its superintendent, Dr. Kalpana Raghunath. Housed in a sprawling 20,000 square feet complex, it offers therapeutic treatments in physiotherapy, Ayurveda, naturopathy and Yoga, all under one roof.
What you get - The gymnasium of the center is 2,500 square feet in size and is centrally air-conditioned and scientifically-planned. State-of-the art work-stations help develop well-toned muscles for a lithe and active body. Special, mechanical and electronically controlled aerobic training equipment like exercise bicycle, EFX-Cross trainer and electronic tread mills are available here to trim off the extra fat gradually, while qualified trainers constantly monitor your workouts.
Addlife also offers Jacuzzi facilities for restoration of your spirits as it facilitates clearing of the respiratory system and opening of the sweat glands. Besides, it has an aesthetically-designed aerobics hall where well-choreographed and scientifically-designed simple exercises help your body stay fit.
The center also has resident physiotherapists who offer services with regard to pain management, rehabilitation programs, regular fitness tests, sports injury management, cardiac rehabilitation programs and therapeutic massages. It also has a full-fledged diet and nutrition lab with a resident dietitian and support staff to guide you with regard to a strength building or weight losing program.
Addlife offers the 5000-years old healing experience, Ayurveda, under its roof as well. Various Ayurvedic treatments are administered under strict supervision of their resident Ayurvedic physicians. The age-old principle of adding suppleness to muscles through experienced masseurs can also be experienced at Addlife. Yoga and meditation classes are also conducted in association with the Ramakrishna Mutt in the exclusive yoga and meditation hall at the centre.
The membership fees at the health club is over Rs. 1,600 per month here but if you go for the annual package it will turn out cheaper at Rs. 12,000.
Our verdict – If you are looking for a single place where you can get the benefits of Yoga, Ayurveda, Naturopathy or even Physiotherapy, then Addlife is worth a try. The gymnasium here is state-of-the-art as well.
